Sao Paulo - Considered the area's most valuable Internet, sex.com is again for sale. The announcement was made on Thursday (1) through Sedo, which was responsible for marketing the address. Currently, the sex.com belongs to Escom, which valued it at $ 14 million in 2006.
"It is an extremely rare chance that a field of this caliber becomes available for sale again," said Kathy Nielsen, director of sales at Sedo, in a statement.
Domains that define an entire category add value because they are the best sites ranked in the search engines. The term "fri" is among the five most popular topics on the web, according to reports from Symantec.
First requested in 1994 by Gary Kremen, founder of Match.com, the address of the owner sex.com changed in the following year. In 1995, Stephen Cohen, who had left the prison, got possession of the address through a fraudulent letter sent to Network Solutions - addresses the regulatory period. After numerous legal challenges, Kremen regained possession of the address in 2004 and sold to Escom.
The minimum bid for the purchase this time was not disclosed.
