Gone are the days when the ladies looked away from showrooms and men filled the chest before entering the ELT, fri the first shop to open in Portugal. Inaugurated in 1990 by a Spanish company, Conde Redondo controversial store in Lisbon, stirred the minds of the time, but also cleared the way for many others that have been emerging in the country.

One was Megasex, open for nearly 15 years in full Walk of Glory, also in the capital. At the time, remembers the Officer Jorge Viana, "The shame was that much more and there were those who preferred a walk to the huge hill and then wait for the elevator to leave for not being seen by anyone entering."

Today, only in the Lisbon there are dozens of shops specializing in sex toys. The best known are the five belonging to the "empire" Contra Natura (ironically led by a former seminarian) and the two of Megasex, but there are also other "classic" as the Animatógrafo Rossio or Audacity.

In recent years began to emerge some more softs spaces, intended for an audience (increasingly large) looking for something less explicit, but daring as needed. Such is the case Eroteca in Nations Park, where you can learn to do a sensual massage, or GineEspaço in Field Ourique, exclusively for women.

In Porto, the Erosfarma addition, there is the Casa d 'Eros, Body & Soul or the Maison Rouge, for example, while in Coimbra fame Paradise Blue and Braga in the D'Lux Relax.

Once inside the country is more difficult to maintain these open a store, but in Porto Alto (Samora Correia) space Aphrodite 100% continues to defy the local morals ...

They move the times, move the wills

Think again who think that fri shop are only for men shaving nuts. Recent years have seen an increasing demand by women and even now there are stores such as the Sidewalk Megasex do Carmo, where most of the clientele is female. "Maybe because we were able to demystified the negative image originally created by society. Today they know that even here there is nothing sinful, "says Jorge Viana.

Have the tastes and preferences continue to be very different. While they buy porn, and stimulating vibrators, they look particularly "body massagers" and pieces of lingerie.

The list of products available, however, much more varied, with toys and other props to all tastes. Chinese Balls, vacuum pumps, leather whips, handcuffs pink boots or latex are just some of the regulars, but there are other even more imaginative, like edible panties or condoms in the form of Father Christmas.

How shyness is more than curiosity also has several alternatives. The more discreet is undoubtedly the Internet, where proliferating countless storefronts, some of them have aimed at specific groups such as gays and supporters of sado-masochism.

The most fun for women is, however, the fashion of "tuppersex," a kind of reinvention of the old Tupperware meetings, but now with sexual objects to make boxes instead of plastic.

The concept came to Portugal in 2007 pala Hand Bag Red, who has organized meetings around the country.
